As you
become older, you start noticing patterns along the years. One of them is the
fact that by one reason or the other, people moves.
Just like that.
They pick up their stuff and jump into the first train somewhere and they leave.
Why?
Because they think they’re going to find something better.
As a Mexican, as you become older, you slowly start realizing the world is not exactly as you thought it was. You suddenly noticed that your uncle never came back home one day, and that he’s not at holidays any more. You start noticing the little town at the middle of a highway between two larger cities, like the one my grandma was born and raised suddenly lacks men.
You start noticing your highschool friend is all of a sudden being dropped at school by her mom. His dad is nowhere to be found. Years later she’s giving you her bye-byes, because her dad was finally able to rent a good place for all three of them to live… at the US.
People move to America not exactly because they’re looking for the American dream, but because humans are like that. They go away somewhere else when life is too hard in one location. People always looks for a way of an easier life, a happier life. They go to the states because it’s the immediate country, where it happens paychecks are slightly better than ours.
Don’t take no offense if someone whose skin color doesn’t match yours suddenly appears in your neighborhood. They don’t mean wrong. They just want to make a better living. Just the same as you would if war suddenly exploded in your country. Just the same way you are right now crashing Canada’s immigration site. Just as you have the right to get out of your country if the conditions in which you are living are not the best for you, we will also search for another place to live if conditions in our homeland are not exactly peachy. The same way goes to your enterprises, and that is why I am writing this today.
Your soon-to-be commander in chief is yelling everywhere he goes he’s going to “return the jobs that they took away from us”. Well, let me ask you something.
Would YOU do that job?
Here’s a list of jobs you definitely wouldn’t take.

Here’s a list of jobs you definitely wouldn’t take.
- Janitor / Cleaning lady
Mothers around the globe do it. They clean, they cook, they sweep, they dedicate their life to the wellbeing of other people. Mothers get rewarded and appreciated for that, but not janitors or cleaning ladys.Would you like to work washing toilets?
- Construction or general maintenance.
Dads do it every Sunday either for fun or for getting away from their families. Would you do it over 8 hours? Daily? Earning minimum wage?
- Contact service.
This is one of the ones I hear the most complaints about. Think about the last client support representative you spoke with. How did you treat them? Would you like to deal with customers like you?
- Concierges.
- Chauffeurs. Still under the “staff” category, look at your attitude around them and think about the feeling you’d get if you were to listen and serve people like that during lowkey 8 hours. Do you still think immigrants are stealing “your” jobs?
